Atheists: Am I one of you?
I'd honestly describe you as a Deist at this point. You believe in some power commonly referred to as God, because that's what you're comfortable with calling it. But you know it's inherently wrong and misguided to try to label and define this entity or spirit or whatever, and you reject the accepted stories of God and Jesus. I wouldn't say you're agnostic, because that's on the fence, saying you sort of believe in the standard definition of God but aren't sure whether or not he exists. You decidedly do believe in something, but just don't think it's humanity's place to define it, box it, package it and sell it to the masses. That's Deism. And there's nothing wrong with you continuing to attend church, pray, etc. You can still be moral, good, kind, and all that, you just do it from a more humanist perspective than a God-directed commandment place.
