What is wrong with my son's hamster?

My son's hamster is a teddy bear hamster. Both his eyes have started having nasty stuff come out of them. Plus it feels and looks like he has food in his cheeks but yet he doesn't. He has also been breathing funny, kinda like heavy breathing / hiccups, if that makes any sense. Does anyone know what I can do to help him?
